Experiments: Calling of name Mexborough Ragger 3 times
Over view:
A young girl (know as the Mexborough Ragger) is said to have been walking through a tunnel taking water to the quarry when a train hit her. There is an archway in the tunnel wall, which you can sit in, then you say her name 3 times and she reappears walking through the tunnel.
Only a few people have been in contact with the white lady. We went to try and get her to appear for us!
The Investigation:
Upon arriving at the location, it was a very cold clear but windy night, we started by getting ourselves familiar with the area before settling down to conduct the vigil.
We all entered the tunnel a little apprehensive but eager to see if we would see anything or witness anything out of the ordinary.
The main areas we were concentrating on were the archways situated in the tunnel, there are 5 of these and it’s said to be the middle one where you call her name and she appears.
We walked the full length of the tunnel first to familiarise ourselves with the layout and to try and track down the middle arch way. As we were walking back down the tunnel towards the middle arch way and loud clunking noise could be heard for the arched area. We approached the arch but were unable to recreate the noise that we had heard.
Joe and Myself (Richard) felt a little strange in the tunnel and nervous about calling out the name, Mexborough Ragger 3 times, so Wez being a sceptic stood in the archway and called her name out. He repeated this prompt several times, but unfortunately she didn’t appear. But Joe did see an orb appear on the archway of the tunnel but had to dismiss the fact that paint was peeling off and it could have been that what he saw. However, it was noticed that all 3 of us kept looking towards the far end of the tunnel as though there was something there.
Conclusion:
The Rotherham-ghosts team left the area around

Overview:
Sightings of this spectral figure date back to the 1770s, when he was first seen drifting among the ruins. Reports also exist of sightings of a white woman, and the sounds of quiet voices and bumping. Reports have quite recently been made that flashed of light have been seen coming from the castle in the evening. Along with flashes of light coming from the roof of the castle.
Rotherham-ghosts hired Conisbrough Castle for the night for an exclusive investigation!
Please see "The Tour" video below!
The Investigations:
Upon arriving at the location, it was a very cold clear but windy night, we started by getting ourselves familiar with the area before settling down to conduct the vigils.
It was decided that we would split up into smaller groups and so that we could conduct separate investigations along with group ones, this enabled us to cover more of the castle.
The main areas we were concentrating on were the Entrance level, The Lords Chamber and Chapel and the Lords Hall. Due to severe winds and cold weather, it was decided that the battlements would not be covered during the investigation process.

Rotherham-ghosts and the team can confirm that the rest of the group were in the visitors center at the time of Mike making this film!!
Conclusion:
The Rotherham-ghosts team left the area around 03.00 has their time there had come to an end. This location was a very interesting place to investigate by the team and I think an interesting night was had by all of us.
Over 7 hours of video footage were taken that evening and many of the strange happenings that we experience on the night were unfortunately not all caught on video tape.
Some of these included the lights at one point going out completely for no reason at all. After informing the staff member of the castle who was in the visitors centre at the time. He confirmed that the lights were timed to be on continuously during the night and couldn’t explain the reason for this taking place. Also a dark shadow was seen pass the doorway of the chapel, but again this was not caught on video tape.
One last thing to add, Richard was the last investigator to join the group on the evening of the investigation so he headed off up to the castle to meet the rest of the team, has he climbed the stairs and entered the lords chamber he saw a pair of legs disappear up the opposite stairwell. Frozen to the spot he telephoned one of the other group members who confirmed that they were all on the roof and had been for a while. Has the rest of the team came down from the roof to meet Richard heavy footsteps from the team could be heard from the wooded floors above. There was no way some one could have run up the stone steps and got across the floor without Richard hearing them.
Rotherham-ghosts would like to thank the staff at Conisborough castle for their hospitality and look forward to returning again in the future.

Location: The Tunnels, Conisbrough
Date:
Time: 2230 Hours
E.M.F. Reading: 0.0
Temperature reading: 1.0 Degrees Centigrade
Investigators: Richard, Mike
Equipment used: E.M.F, Digital Cameras, Night Vision Camcorders, Thermometer, Torches.
Experiments: None
Over view:
The tunnels run along side the River Don in Conisbrough, a regular Rotherham-ghosts visitor submitted the story through that many years ago, quarry workers lived on the embankment of the River Don in tunnels and caves, due to the nature of the work and regular flooding many people lost their lives down there. So the spirits of lost souls are said to walk the area they once lived and worked.
The Investigation:
Upon arriving at the location, it was a very cold night, we started by getting ourselves familiar with the area before entering one of the only remaining tunnels that are down there.
There is only one entrance to the tunnel which looks like an old railway tunnel; this is the tunnel that was reported through for the team to investigate. Inside its about 60foot long and around 12 foot high and wide, the tunnel is very cold and dirty but is sheltered very well from the weather.
We started the first vigil calling out from any known spirit to try and communicate with us. The tunnel was very dark and even our camera equipment was struggling to focus in there. Mike soon saw a Orb appear on film, but later on during the investigation we noticed that there was a large amount of moths hibernating in there, even though they were quite dormant and not flying around, we had to dismiss the orb caught on film.
There was a very strange feeling that we were not alone in the tunnel, but no definite signs of paranormal activity seem to come through to us. The area was so quiet we turn off the cameras and waited patiently for something to happen but nothing out of the ordinary appeared.
After turned the cameras on again, Mike noticed through the view finder of the camcorder that there seemed to be a light shining at the far end, but after investigating this, again it was a moth hanging on to the roof of the tunnel, again the moth was quite dormant covered in dew, which was reflecting the light we were creating from the camera.
Conclusion:
The Rotherham-ghosts team left the area around 0300 hours a little disappointed with their results of the evening. But quite satisfied that we had explained the orbs and lights what most people may have concluded as paranormal. However, we do intend on visiting this location again when the weather is better. For another try.
