Overview:
The Old Coaching Inn is based on the outskirts of
The
The building has very limited access now and you can only get in to the first room of the smallest building due to the damage caused by vandals and the natural elements.
The Investigation:
Upon arriving at the location, it was a cold night, we started by getting ourselves familiar with the area before settling down to conduct the vigil.
The only area we could investigate was the first room as you enter the smallest building and the stairway which leads to nowhere, now the upper floors have collapsed.
Nothing much seemed to be happening until, we heard what we could only describe as a man crying out. (This was caught on film!) The team went outside to have a look to see if there was anyone hanging around, but could see or hear anyone. The noises continued on for a while and then stopped.
Mike also heard what he describes as a shuffling noise in the upstairs room, but after reviewing the tape we were unable to hear it.
Nothing much else seemed to happen, but after reviewing the tape upon returning home, we noticed that there was a mist appeared on the camera. This wasn’t noticed at the time by Richard who was holding the camcorder at the time and no other mists were caught during the evenings filming.
Conclusion:
The Rotherham-ghosts team left the Old Coaching Inn around 1240 hours a little disappointed with their results of the evening.
Once we returned to the car, we decided to look around the area a little more to see if we could discover what was making the noises we were hearing earlier. Upon looking over a gate, we discover that there was a cow making some very strange noises in the field!
We couldn’t explain the shuffling that Mike heard upstairs, but it could have been some small animal a tree brushing up against the building.
After reviewing the tapes back, we did notice that there was a mist appearing on the screen. We can confirm that none of the other footage we took that night had a mist on, but due to the weather being quite cold, it could have been the cameraman’s breath.
The old coaching inn is still a great place to investigate, but is very dangerous due to structural damage. The Rotherham-ghosts team have kept the location secret to prevent people going there and causing themselves an injury. Please do not email us for the directions as they won’t be disclosed for your safety.
The Video Report

Date: 19 January 2007
Time: 2230 Hours

Temperature reading: 2.0 Degrees Centigrade
Investigators: Richard, Joe, Mike
Equipment used: E.M.F, Digital Cameras, Night Vision Camcorders, Digital Voice Recorder, Thermometer, Torches.

Over view:
Stocksbridge bypass was constructed in the 1980s and has created media interest throughout its time, due to some of the strange goings on that have occurred. Police also have reported that a figure and strange bangs were heard while doing their vigil up there after receiving a number of reports from workmen saying they had witnessed strange happenings.
The Investigation:
Upon arriving at the location, it was a very cold and windy night, we started by getting ourselves familiar with the area before settling down to conduct the vigil.
The main areas we were concentrating on were the
We started the first vigil while sat in the car on Peroyd bridge, because this is where the police officers witnessed the strange banging’s and figure stood at the car window. However, due to high winds we had to dismiss any noises and movements the car was making.
A further vigil took place around the pylon area, to see if we could hear the reported singing that has been heard, again due to the adverse weather it was difficult to hear anything out of the ordinary. We did hear voices and shouting, but had to dismiss this due to revellers coming out of the public house in the valley and the possibly of the wind carrying their voices.
Conclusion:
The Rotherham-ghosts team left the area around 0210hours a little disappointed with their results of the evening. However, we do intend on visiting this location again when the weather is better. For another try.
